Switch
Bring your library with you.
You built that collection over years. Moving it should take minutes, and it should never be a thing you do twice.
Yours, and always exportable
Whatever you bring across stays readable and exportable for as long as you have an account, including if you never pay us a cent. There is no format we can hold your recipes in that you cannot get them back out of. That is the whole promise, and it is the reason we think you should feel safe trying this with your real library rather than a test recipe.
What a switch looks like
Three moves, and none of them involve retyping anything.
-
1
Export from the app you use now.
Nearly every recipe app has an export buried in its settings. You want the file it produces, not a printout.
-
2
Drop the file into Capseta.
One place takes it. We read it, and we tell you how many recipes we found.
-
3
Cook from it tonight.
Your recipes are searchable, plannable, and ready in the kitchen as soon as the import finishes.
If something in your file does not read cleanly, we say so and tell you which recipes were affected, rather than importing a smaller number and letting you discover the gap later.
What we can read today
This list is short on purpose. We would rather name the handful of sources we have actually built and tested than publish a long list we cannot stand behind.
-
Paprika
Both of Paprika’s export formats, with your photos when your export includes them.
-
Spreadsheets
A .csv file from your computer, or a link to a Google Sheet or an Excel Online workbook that’s open to anyone with the link. Use the column names from our template, and you see every recipe before anything saves.
-
Everything else, one at a time
A web address, a photo of a cookbook page, a PDF, or text pasted from an email or a message. If a single page holds more than one recipe, we find up to ten per import and tell you if there were more.
Using an app that is not on this list? Bring your file anyway. If we cannot read it, we will say so plainly. Tell us which app it came from through Help and feedback, and that helps decide what we build next.
One place to start
Take it to the import screen, choose where it came from, and drop it in. We read it and tell you honestly if it is a format we have not built yet.
Open the import screen and drop your file. How big a library?
Hundreds of recipes come over in minutes, and your collection can grow to 5,000. That’s more than most of us could cook in a lifetime of weeknights. Close to the limit, or past it? Email us at Hello@Capseta.app. We’d like to hear about it.
